23 weeks of matchups, most of which had predictions by the one and only Air Lainey. I missed a few days or so, but for the most part I kept with it. I know Wisconsin is super sad right now because of the Badgers loss in the NCAA basketball championship game, but let’s look at the positives. They got a whole lot of love from most of the country and they’ve made it further than they have in decades. They are America’s sweethearts.
So, on the subject of positives, let’s take a look back at the positives of this league besides my enthralling weekly predictions. First, let’s announce our winner and recap the last matchup of the season.
The winner of the first ever Fresh Bananas Fantasy basketball league is Ryan a.k.a. Fight Me in da Paint.
Congratulations, Ryan. We didn’t play for money or other prizes, but I hope this leaves you feeling like a true champion. Ryan beat our second place team, Barker, by almost 400 points! Congratulations on placing second in the Fresh Bananas fantasy basketball league, Barker. That was hard to type. But I did it.
Our third and fourth place winners battled it out with Barry taking third place with a final win over Daniel by just 264 points. Congratulations to Barry for taking third and to the creator and manager of this league, Daniel, for placing fourth.
As for the rest of us, we cannot direct the wind, but we can adjust the sails. (That saying is from a fortune I got at Pan Asia Kitchen in Eau Claire). Maybe we will all do a little better job next year, hopefully, of adjusting our lineups. Steve, for the most part you did very well this year and stayed close to first. You only dropped to fifth to finish off the season, but at least you were not in the bottom half. Jacob, you had the best character for your team. Mr. McGibblets. You had a great year and didn’t fall to far from being in the middle of the pack. Stan, you beat me, so I guess that’s pretty good. You’re kind of busy becoming a doctor so I cut you slack for not doing better. I came in either place. I remember when I was at the top for so long and made it into the playoffs. Then one of my Smash Bros® got injured and I didn’t take the advice of my husband and switch my line up. Oops. I’ll listen next time. Luke came in ninth place. Luke, you had a good run at being at the top in the beginning of the season. Maybe next year you’ll be able to hold on a bit longer. Tony, you have come a long way. You were in last for like, ever. I’m proud of the work your fantasy team has done. Derek. I’m not sure what happened because you were doing pretty well for a while. But your team name is one of my favorites and makes me laugh when I think about it. Alison, thank you for joining the league. Next year maybe your husband can join and then you can beat him and laugh.
It has been an honor playing with you and your fantasy teams these past 23 weeks. I hope you all decide to play again next year and read all of the predictions that I write next year. I hope some of you have enjoyed my predictions. We’ve gone through so much with these predictions. From Space Jam dudes to mascots and from past players to the cutest puppies. You never really know what you’re going to get when reading my predictions. I hope you’ve enjoyed my posts and I hope to see you all next year. I’ll leave you with this one last picture I found in Google when typing “Fresh Bananas Fantasy Basketball League”:
