Pigeons and Planes has been up on him since last year. But I just found it cruising Wisconsin artists on SoundCloud. It's almost a year old, but it's really good. Good like I just downloaded it and left it on loop for an hour. Good like I volunteered to run to the store just to ride with it up loud. Video adds to it too, which is great, especially considering he's obviously doing it with a true Indie budget, and this wasn't the only thing worth checking out on his SoundCloud.
The new Young Thug mixtape "Slime Season" wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Had some fun shit in there. I was fully ready for it to be all wierdo indulgence and proof that Weezy was washed. But by the second time I listened last night I found some some songs that will be in semi-regular rotation. Also it's free dummies, so download it to your stupid phone and listen to it while you're waiting in line at Chipotle. And when you get upset because it's 'tricky" to figure out DatPiff.com or livemixtapes.com remember I told you to shut your sour cream stuffed mouth, because Hip-Hop is the only music built around regularly handing out music for free. And even though it's designed to get or keep you interested there are still classics coming off mixtapes. The shitty Eagles made about 20 songs, made 50 million dollars, and keep their private jets fueled by playing those same shitty songs twice a year while wearing Hawaiian shirts and Teva's with socks. Tell your Dad I said that next time he mentions "hippetty-hop."
