Beast Mode is a nine track thing that Future put out that is sole produced by Zaytoven, who has worked with Gucci Mane and others. It is like most of Future’s recent music it sounds trappy and is heavy on bass and drums. Since it is produced by Zaytoven the other parts of the beat are more fleshed out than most of Metro Boomin’s work with Future. Like I did with DS2 I just went through each song and picked out things I liked.
“Ooooh” is a good opener, it is high energy and Future just rides the beat so well, Young Scooter’s flow does not nearly fit as well as Future’s. The little keys intro to “Aintchu” is wonderful. The spoken intro about feeling the pain of kids in the ghetto on “No Basic” does not really carry over into the actual content of the song. Considering the chorus is about whipping Maserati’s and blowing the weave off of someone. Which if you can blow the weave off someone they really messed up with the installation of said weave.
I just have to say again how much I love Zaytoven’s keys, because they show up so strong on “Peacoat”. The keys on “Just Like Bruddas” are almost too much, but still sound so good. Future talks about how people are talking about him leaving his baby momma, which can only mean Ciara. Even though he has several baby mommas.
Future sounds so good on “Where I Came From.” The Future flow rides the beat smoothly and uses great inflection on the chorus - perfect. “Real Sisters” is probably my least my favorite song out of all of these, I just don’t really care for the hook and if the hook on a Future song is weak that song is weak.”Forever Eva” is a decent closer and one of the better beats on this project. I cannot say enough times that future just works so well on these beats. His flow is impeccable and he brings the right amount of energy to every song.
This project is on par with his other work this year. Future sounds great and he gets some great production. Zaytoven did not disappoint with any of the beats even if I did not like how the entirety of a song came together.
