Feel the rage. Let the FashionxCore run through you.
In April, Eighteen Visions, the once defunct kings of Orange County fashionxcore - metalcore performed by guys who understood leavin-in conditioner, Diesel jeans, and how to look cool - dropped a new song and accompanying music video.
Fact: Eighteen Visions was one of my favorite bands when I was in high school, which was a very long time ago.
Fact: Eighteen Visions was one of my very biggest influences when I did my first band with some friends.
I can't really say that this is a surprise. Keith Barney (Eighteen Visions, Throwdown, Monuments to Thieves) and James Hart (Eighteen Visions vocalist for almost all of their existence) had been teasing some sort of new Eighteen Visions happenings via Instagram for a significant amount of time. They also brought the official Eighteen Visions Instagram account online around the same time.
Regarding this new song - I have no idea. It sounds great to me, but I've always loved 18V. I conveniently ignored their last studio album and tolerated Obsession. However, It's always the old material that I remain captivated by.
The new song is also extremely shot by Eighteen Visions standards. The music video clocks in at 2:10 and the song doesn't even start immediately.
I can also confirm that I already pre-ordered the album package that comes with the t-shirt.
And this comes on the heels of Contraband Goods release a very old Eighteen Visions album, Yesterday is Time Killed on cassette, along with a classic shirt design.
I have no idea what the motive was behind the return to existence, but I'm along for the ride. Don't let me down, boys.
